ALEX MELNYCHUCK
Tech Leader & Performing Musician
I lead engineering teams
and build products people depend on.
For 17 years, that's meant healthcare: clinical tools, patient apps, and member experiences that measurably improve patient outcomes.
I'm also a jazz trumpet player and have been performing on stage for two decades. Whether I'm leading engineers or sitting in with a big band, the work is the same: show up prepared, listen well, and deliver something memorable.

What I bring
Seventeen years of engineering leadership, a lifetime of musical performance, and a focus on creating meaningful products.
How I work
I care about clarity, quality, craft, and shipping dependable software with positive impact. I stay close to the work and keep things moving.

My focus is on clarity, fast feedback loops, and removing obstacles so that teams can do their best work without any unnecessary overhead.
I stay technical enough to be useful, close enough to the work to know what's actually happening.

What kind of engineering leader are you?
I like small teams that move fast and hold a high bar.
I'm hands on and prioritize by impact.
But my job is setting direction and clearing obstacles so the team can focus.
That sounds refreshing.

Still Performing
Currently gigging around Phoenix and Tucson, AZ.
